Leaving on a Jet Plane….

Saturday, November 18th, 2006

Finally I have some time to sit down and relax a little… and have some time to blog.

It has been a crazy couple of weeks here in Houston. So many things to do, so many things done and just a little bit more to go before I leave. I have yet to feel the excitement of going home but I am sure that will come once I am in the plane. My mind is still filled with items on my to-do list =(

So what have I been busy with? Well… here’s the list of things that I have done (so far)

  • Finalised on an apartment and signed the lease - we are moving in 6 Jan 07!
  • Packed 1/3 of the apartment - 8 boxes in total, all stacked up next to the toolboxes and cool boxes and bike in the guestroom.
  • Made and sent Christmas cards to close friends and relatives - yes, I made our Christmas cards this year
  • Created and ordered 2007 calendar - this is for family only and it’s no ordinary calendar. It’s customised with photos that Adam and I took in 2006
  • Christmas shopping for both sides of the family - managed to get myself something too!
  • Made a Christmas wishlist - to make it easier for Adam to get me something… hehe… Gifts range from $50 - $600… I am excited to see what Adam got me!
  • Wrapped all gifts - some are coming with me to Malaysia
  • Packed both our diving gear
  • Shopped for stuff some friends and family requested me to get them
  • Prepared 2 weeks worth of food in the frezer for Adam - cooked Thai red curry, chicken curry, pasta sauce & cottage pie, bought 4 boxes of frozen pizza, 2 boxes of yummy crab cakes and a box of fish fingers
  • Stocked up the pantry
  • Completed 2 SSA innitiatives
  • Attended an SSA Board meeting to plan for 2007 and an Newcomer’s Coffee to welcome ladies new to Houston
  • Wrote an article for SSA newsletter - one more to go
  • Packed half my suicase - will do the rest tomorrow before I leave

I believe I did more than what I have listed but somehow I just can’t remember it now. I have a few more things to accomplish today and tomorrow I will have my feet up, sipping on champagne and enjoy my flight back - Business Class!
